WELCOME FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Guest of Visitation Academy,

Welcome to Visitation! Whether you are a member of our Community or a first-time visitor, this web site offers you a comprehensive overview of who we are and what we embrace. Captured in photos and prose, you will "see" us and read our story, of which we are very proud.

Founded in 1833 by the Sisters of the Visitation, the Academy is rich in tradition and academic excellence. Visitation’s value-driven educational system is as relevant for the 21st century as it was for the 19th. In fidelity to the spirit of Sts. Francis de Sales and Jane de Chantal, our students thrive in an environment which encourages the development of each individual and her uniqueness, while fostering an awareness of the broader community's needs, locally, regionally, nationally and even internationally. Adult and youth alike strive to "Live Jesus" and emulate the "little virtues" integral to our Salesian spirit: joy, humility, simplicity, reverence and respect.

This site is also a way for all of us to keep connected. As an alumna, parent or student you can easily be linked to those who share our common goals and spirit. Please browse the full site and learn more about the Academy and, in exploring our links, also our Monastery, the home of our beloved Sisters of the Visitation, who by their community, give living witness to our mission and heritage.

We are delighted you have chosen to "visit" with us and invite you to visit often to learn of the wonderful world of Visitation Academy. I personally extend an invitation to you to visit our campus and experience our warm hospitality and student-friendly, academic environment.

As we celebrate our 175th year of Salesion education this year, our theme for this school year is JOYFUL GRATITUDE. As it says in Philippians 4:4-6 ³Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again, rejoice! Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near. Have no anxiety at all; but for everything, pray for it, asking God for it with prayer and thanksgiving.² I offer this same reflection and promise of prayer, hopefully with and for you. May your days be filled with joy and courage and an abundance of God's Blessings. I look forward to meeting you.
