Viz Student is Finalist for 2010 Eco-Scholarship
Visitation Academy Senior Jessica D'Souza is a finalist in the EcoLifeSTL.com and Neighbors Credit Union $10,000 Eco-Scholarship.Each finalist has submitted a short video that they produced individually to showcase themselves, their ambitions and their passion for a greener St. Louis and world.
To win the scholarship, Jessica needs the help of the Visitation Academy community.
The first step is to go online and view Jessica's video.
Next, users must register with the site in order to cast their vote. It only takes a minute to fill out the registration form. You then need to check your e-mail and click on the verification link before you will be allowed to vote.
Lastly, go back to the voting area. Scroll down to the "Vote Now" button and and vote for Jessica's video. You may need to log in using the name and password for your newly-created account.
You may vote once per hour through March 1.
Last year, Jessica and her sister founded a community vegetable garden that involves the participation of classmates and neighbors. Their goal is to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle. This past summer, they even used their harvest to donate regularly to St. Cronin's food pantry.
Visitation Academy congratulates Jessica on her success in the competition thus far and wishes her the best of luck in the final round.
Special recognition also goes out to the Visitation students and staff who make cameo appearances in Jessica's video.
