All-Girls Education

Study after study shows that girls learn best in a single-sex environment.  The Sisters of the Visitation knew this more than 175 years ago when they founded the Academy.

Viz girls have every opportunity to take charge, get involved and participate in the community around them.  They are the top scholars, the team captains, the yearbook editors and the leads in the school play.  They raise their hands, seek their teachers’ attention and are heard.

Rather than compete for a spot at their school, Viz girls are always in first place.  They are the doers, rather than just the listeners. Their self-esteem is determined by their performance and participation – not by how they do their makeup or fix their hair.

In short, they possess a freedom that allows them to focus on what’s important – without the fear of being judged.

The “can do” atmosphere at Visitation’s all-girls environment yields lifelong rewards.  Our graduates are confident learners, critical thinkers, and self-starters who know that they can handle any challenge that lies ahead.
