Mission Statement
Visitation Academy’s Technology Department is dedicated to providing a wide variety of technological resources and tools to enhance the learning experiences of every student. Through the application of appropriate technologies in the school setting, students are encouraged to engage in critical thinking, creative expression and decision-making.Visitation Academy is an environment that values academic excellence. The Technology Department is dedicated to increasing productivity, facilitating better communication and empowering faculty and staff to accomplish their goals for the good of the students and the institution. The school’s technology allows all members of the Visitation community to enhance learning, productivity and information processing.
Technology at Visitation Academy
Our goal at Visitation Academy is to offer the highest quality educational experiences, regardless of the medium. However, in our modern world, computers have become a powerful resource in education. Visitation Academy supports the use of technology as an educational tool to advance classroom teaching and learning and provides a technology rich environment to support our education program.
Upper and Lower schools provide computer labs for student instruction with additional computers in each classroom.
Grades 7 through 12 students participate in the laptop program at Visitation which provides a lease program through which these students have tablet laptop computers available for their use anytime, anywhere. Through the use of technology at Visitation, our teachers and students are finding enhanced teaching and learning opportunities, new vehicles of self-expression and motivating instructional activities to enhance learning.
