College Counseling

Visitation's college counseling program strives to match students with post-secondary school options that ensure future personal, academic and social successes.

We believe that there are many college matches for every individual. As a result, it is each student's primary responsibility to research potential matches and determine which college options are best.

Within this process, parents and counselors will provide assistance in the form of support and guidance. Remembering that each student is ultimately responsible for the college application process is critical to finding the appropriate school; taking on that responsibility also teaches each student important life skills while giving them a stake in the selection process.

The College Counseling Team

The college counseling team is comprised of two general counselors and 3-4 college advisors depending on the size of the senior class. College advisors each have a group of 13-15 young women for whom they write recommendations and provide assistance.

Naviance

Naviance is a college counseling program that - from research to application - is used throughout the college application process. Every student and parent is provided with a login code to access the Naviance Web site. If you cannot access the site or have forgotten your logon, please contact Alice O'Donnell.

Although the Naviance Web site contains a number of helpful tools, it is important to remember that no single resource is all-inclusive. Every student should reach out to their counselor to ask questions and discover additional resources.
