Spirituality & Service
Spirituality and service play important roles in the Visitation educational experience. The mission of the Academy mirrors Mary’s visitation to Elizabeth: her acceptance of Jesus in her own life and her commitment to carry Him to others. Students strive to “Live Jesus” by reflecting Christ’s gentle strength in their daily interactions.
We aim to integrate spirituality into daily activities as our young women to learn to balance their personal lives and academics. Each class day begins and ends with the entire school praying together along with a student on the intercom and each class begins with a prayer or spiritual thoughts. In addition to informal prayer, students, faculty, staff, administration and Sisters gather regularly for liturgies and prayer services throughout the school year. Each group shares the experience of retreats to deepen their spiritual life.
The Visitation Mission Statement confirms that service is also an important component of a young woman’s education and life. Our desire to "Live Jesus" is the motivation for numerous community service projects initiated throughout the school year both inside and out of school walls.
