Campus Traffic and Safety

Please take a minute to review the followings campus traffic and safety reminders:
Drop-Off/Pick-Up – As you enter campus and proceed around the loop driveway, the left lane is for Lower School drop-off, and the right lane is for the Middle School and Upper School drop-off. These lanes are marked accordingly. Please drive slowly, exercise caution, pay attention to traffic flow, and avoid using your phone during drop-off and pick-up.

Lower School Procedures:

Middle and Upper School Procedures:
  • Morning Arrival
    • Students may arrive at Door 6 anytime, starting at 7:00 a.m. If students arrive between 7:00-7:30 a.m., they should ring the bell, and our receptionist will unlock the door.
    • Drivers should proceed in the right lane in front of Door 6 and drive to the end of the sidewalk to allow space for as many cars as possible in the drop-off lane before students exit their cars. The Circle Drive will not be utilized for morning arrival. Once students exit their cars, drivers may pull out to the left lane and exit the parking lot.
  • Afternoon Dismissal
    • Students should be picked up outside Door 6 between 3:00-3:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to wait until after 3:00 p.m. to arrive on campus as students need time to gather their belongings before leaving. Arriving closer to 3:20 p.m. lessens the congestion of cars waiting for students to exit the building. At 3:30 p.m., all students who have not been picked up must return inside and report to their Extended Day location (MS students—Room 236; US students—Library). After 3:30 p.m., drivers should pick up students from the main entrance (Door 4) and call the receptionist at 314-625-9100 to request that their student(s) be dismissed.
    • Drivers should proceed in the right lane in front of Door 6 and drive through Circle Drive before stopping to pick up students. Please pull all the way through Circle Drive, even if you see your daughter on the sidewalk, to allow for the maximum number of cars in the pick-up lane. Once students enter their cars, drivers may pull out to the left lane and exit the parking lot. Please follow traffic directives from faculty members to ensure a safe exit. To manage traffic congestion at the stop sign, the faculty member on duty may wave cars through the stop sign or hold cars.

Exiting Campus - There are two exits in front of the school – the traffic light and the one north of the Ballas Road parking lot. The north exit has two lanes, both for right turns only. The lane on the right is for turning eastbound onto Highway 40. The lane to the left is for turning right onto Ballas Road. When traffic is heavy on Ballas Road, please exit at the traffic light if you are heading north on Ballas Road or westbound on Highway 40.
