Something to Talk About
Congratulations to Class of 2022 graduate Abby Strait! She was awarded a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI‑Y) scholarship to study the Chinese (Mandarin) language for eight-ten months in Taiwan. She competed with thousands of applicants from high schools across the United States and was one of over 80 students selected to participate in an NSLI‑Y academic year program.
While in Taiwan, Abby will be immersed in the local culture and communities, study the Chinese (Mandarin) language, and interact with peers in the host community. This is her second NSLI-Y scholarship. She also received a Virtual Summer Intensive scholarship to study Mandarin for five weeks in the summer of 2020.

Visitation Academy is an independent, private Catholic school offering a coeducational Montessori preschool and Kindergarten program, the area's only all-girl elementary program for Grades 1-5, and an all-girl middle school and all-girl high school.
