Mothers’ Club

ALL mothers and female guardians of Visitation students are members of the Mothers’ Club.

The purpose of this organization is to promote the welfare of Visitation Academy by:

  • Acting as a liaison between home and school in a collaborative, cooperative and cohesive spirit with the Administration.
  • Fostering a closer union among students, parents, and faculty.
  • Providing a structure through which various projects to benefit students, parents, faculty, staff, and Sisters may be implemented and fulfilled.
  • Promoting the ideals of Salesian spirituality through service, sociability, and the perpetuation of the Visitation Academy communal identity as conveyed in the school’s mission statement.

The Mothers’ Club Board consists of six officers – President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Historian – as well as an administrative liaison.

A yearly dues fee of $40 is optional, but greatly welcomed, as this is how we are able to subsidize the various opportunities that we provide for our parents, students and Visitation community throughout the year.

The numerous social and service events and activities provided by the Mothers’ Club are listed below:

Fundraising – We hold two fundraisers per school year: one in the fall and one in the spring. Aside from the collection of voluntary yearly dues and the proceeds from Viz Station (see below), these are the only other avenues the Mothers’ Club has for revenue.

Service Projects – There are typically two or three service opportunities during the school year, organized and coordinated by the Service Committee chair(s).

Social Events – Occurring at various times throughout the school year, and as the school schedule permits, these are organized and coordinated by the Social Committee chair(s).

Viz Station – This is a school store fully funded, stocked, and run by Mothers’ Club volunteers.  It is open during school hours and during special school events.
