Viz Summer Camps

Summer Camps 2023

Are you ready for a summer of fun and learning? Our educational and sports summer camps for Montessori, Lower School, and Middle School Viz students are the perfect way to keep kids learning, active, and involved over summer break. 

Most summer camp sessions include all necessary supplies - all that is needed is a mind and body ready to learn!

T-shirt sizes for sport camps are only guaranteed if you register six weeks prior to the camp.

Week 1 Camps: June 5-8, 2023

  • Toddler Camp

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For students enrolled in Viz Montessori Toddler Classroom 2023-2024
    Instructors: Sydney Palmer and Pattia Wagener
    $120

    Join us for fun, sunshine, treats, and more! We will spend this week engaging in summer-themed crafts and activities, including some water activities, and enjoying yummy summer treats. 


  • Montessori Camp

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For students entering the Montessori half or full-day Pre-K program or Viz Kindergarten in 2023-24 OR currently enrolled in Viz Kindergarten for 2022-2023 
    Instructors: Tracey Allen and Amy Bischoff

  • Math Camp Grades 1-3

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 1-3 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)

    This week will focus on reviewing mathematics skills in new and interesting ways! Participate in games and activities that will strengthen your math skills while working together and having fun. 
  • Let’s Get Busy in the Kitchen

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 4-5 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Instructor: Michelle Mueller
    $120

    Get your aprons on and experience cool kitchen tools and techniques. Each day will have a new theme. We will bake, simmer, mix, and measure our way through recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some fun snacks.


  • Lower School Cheer Camp

    12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades K-5
    Instructor: Missie Grapperhaus 
    Viz Marion Gym
    $100 (includes a shirt)

    Join the excitement as Coach Grapperhaus and the Viz cheerleaders introduce campers to new cheers, chants, dances, stunts, and jumps. Emphasis will be on safety, teamwork, and fun! No tumbling or gymnastic experience is necessary. 

  • Grade 6 Math Camp

    12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grade 6 only (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Instructor: Ann Sahm
    $80

    This week will focus on reviewing mathematics skills in new and interesting ways! Participate in games and activities that will strengthen your math skills while working together and having fun. 

  • Grade 7 Math Camp

    12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grade 7 only (only open to students enrolled at Viz)

  • Let's Party

    12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 2-5 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Instructor: Doey Boldt
    $120

    Learn how to plan a party! We will select a theme, create a tablescape and decorations, and plan a full menu and party activities. On Thursday, we will put it all together and enjoy our successes.
  • Space Adventure with Dash the Robot

    12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 1-2 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Instructor: Michelle Mueller
    $120

    Join in on the collaboration, communicate, and work as a team as we program Dash to travel through the solar system. We will pilot five missions for Dash from Saturn through the asteroid belt and onto Jupiter and beyond.

Week 2 Camps: June 12-15, 2023

  • Basketball Camp

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 3-8
    Instructors: Viz Varsity/JV coaching staff 
    Viz Marion Gym
    $100 (includes a shirt)

    Are you ready to hoop it up? The fun begins as coaches introduce the fundamentals of shooting, passing, ball handling, free throws, layups, offensive/defensive strategies, and rebounding. Creative drills and games will encourage teamwork and keep the players active. 
  • Fantasy Art Camp

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 1-3 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Instructor: Genevieve Ploch
    $120

    Come explore a variety of art-making materials to create mermaids, unicorns, and more. Artwork will include 2-D and 3-D projects.
  • Barefoot and Balanced

    9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 2-5 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Instructors: Michelle Mueller and Doey Boldt
    $240 (full day)

    Let's go outside to explore, experiment, and just have fun. We will get dirty while we gain independence and use our imaginations to take risks. We want to ensure healthy bodies, creative minds, and strong social skills. Campers will need a lunch, swimsuit, towel, and a change of clothes daily.
  • Color Explosion Art Camp

    12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 4-5 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)

    $120

    Do you love neon colors and rainbows? Join us for a colorful week of art exploration, creating paintings, fiber art, printmaking, and sculpture. 

Week 3 Camps: June 20-23, 2023

No camps on June 19 due to the Juneteenth Holiday

  • Middle School Camp

    June 20-22 (T-Th)
    8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    For girls entering Grades 6-8 (only open to students enrolled at Viz)
    Viz Buder Gym
    $60

    If you will be in Middle School this fall, this camp is the perfect addition to your summer vacation! A fun time is guaranteed while you play a variety of interactive and cooperative games that help you get to know your new friends, as well as stay connected to your current classmates over the summer. A light snack is provided each day. 
  • Lower School Volleyball Camp

    June 20-23 (T-F)
    9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    For girls entering Grades 3-5
    Instructors: Viz Varsity Coach Ben O'Day and staff
    Viz Marion Gym
    $100 (includes a shirt)

    Basic passing, setting, serving, and hitting skills, along with team defense, will be emphasized. The camp will feature competitive and cooperative drills in a fun learning environment.
  • Cooking Around the World

    June 20-22 (T-Th)
    12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 6-8 (open to non-Viz students)
    Instructor: Debbie Forthaus and Carolyn Schaller 
    $120

    Does your daughter love to cook? If so, Cooking Around the World is the right camp for her! Campers will learn and practice their cooking skills while focusing on a specific cuisine, from French to Mexican to Italian. Delicious experiences will take place in the Visitation Food Science Kitchen.
     
    All recipes will be nut free. This camp is limited to 15 participants.


  • Middle School Volleyball Camp

    June 20-23 (T-F)
    12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades 6-8
    Instructors: Viz Varsity Coach Ben O'Day and staff
    Viz Marion Gym
    $100 (includes a shirt)

Week 4 Camps: June 26-29, 2023

  • Soccer Camp

    9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    For girls entering Grades K-8
    Instructors: Viz Varsity Coach Chris Kenny and staff
    Viz Upper School Soccer Field
    $100 (includes a shirt)

    This camp provides players the opportunity to improve in the areas of receiving, passing, and protecting the ball while in possession. Players will learn to use the key components of soccer - position, movement, and direction - to become more effective players. Campers are asked to bring their own soccer ball. 
  • Grade 8 Technology Camp

    June 26-28 (M-W)
    12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    For girls entering Grade 8 (NEW VIZ STUDENTS ONLY)
    Instructor: Debbie Forthaus 
    $50

    This immersive technology experience will prepare your new 8th grade Viz student for using their new laptops in the classroom. Topics will include but not limited to:
    • Windows Basics
    • Lenovo Laptop Basics
    • MS OneNote
    • MS OneDrive
    • MS Outlook
    • Visitation Portal
    • Google-Accounts
    • Printing at Viz

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will only be issued for cancellation notices received at least two weeks prior to camp.

All indoor facilities are air-conditioned. Any outdoor camps will be brought indoors during inclement weather or when there is extreme heat. Visitation Academy reserves the right to cancel camps if minimum registration is not met.
