Service to the community is an invaluable learning experience for students. Because of our desire to “Live Jesus” and our belief that serving others is key to the growth and development of young Christian girls, Lower School students participate in several community service projects throughout the school year.
Kindness In Action Afternoon
Before heading off for Thanksgiving break, the Lower School pauses to devote time to serving others. This favorite service tradition is called Kindness In Action Afternoon. After sharing the morning with grandparents for the annual Grandparents Day, students spend the afternoon sharing their hearts with those less fortunate by making items for donation to charities. As they work on the projects, students view presentations about the mission of each organization.
“Kindness In Action Afternoon gives our students the opportunity to share their hearts and talents with others before beginning the Thanksgiving holiday,” said principal Margaret Karl.
