works for the USAID – US Agency for International Development.
The USAID leads the U.S. government’s international development and disaster assistance through partnerships and investments that save lives, reduce poverty, strengthen democratic governance and help people emerge from humanitarian crises and progress beyond assistance.
"Viz gave me a great education, confidence to pursue my interests, a high school experience I cherish deeply, and lifelong friendships with strong, wonderful women!”

“I’m working as a Senior Advisor on Orphans and Vulnerable Children in the Office of HIV/AIDS at the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID). In this role, I provide technical assistance and management of our U.S government foreign humanitarian assistance programs addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic globally, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Sr. Marie Therese Ruthmann recommended Cry the Beloved Country by Alan Paton in my senior year of English at Viz, and I have been hooked on Africa ever since! It led to my concentration in African studies in college at the University of Virginia, joining the Peace Corps, and my current career in international development. "
