Upper School

A Message from our Upper School Principal

Welcome to the Upper School! I wear two different hats at Visitation Academy: principal of the Upper School and parent of a Viz Upper School student. No matter which hat I am wearing, there is one thing I can say with absolute certainty – I want the very best for the young women that go to school here.

It is completely evident in this ever-changing 21st-century world that all-girl schools are needed. The National Coalition of Girls’ Schools (NCGS) published an insightful blog post on their website - Why Girls’ Schools Are More Relevant than Ever. The post listed the following as the top three reasons for this assessment
  • Girls’ schools inspire leadership.
  • Girls’ schools build self-confidence.
  • Girls’ schools are innovators and create innovators.
Viz consistently delivers on these points plus much, much more. Having been an educator and administrator in both coed and all-girl schools, believe me when I say the atmosphere here at Viz is completely different. There is no denying the benefits of an all-girl educational environment. I see it in our Upper School students, and I see it in my own daughter.

Explore the website or, even better, come visit Viz to find out how our Viz Upper School will benefit your daughter!

Sincerely,

Terry Murray
