Making Waves in Columbia, MO
Congratulations to the Viz swim and dive program on an outstanding performance at the Girls’ COMO Invitational held at the Mizzou Aquatic Center, where the team tied for fourth place out of 51 schools. Read more to learn about individual and team results.
The Vivettes were led by junior Maddie M., who delivered two strong fifth-place finishes in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke, breaking her own school record in the 100 backstroke with a 57.94. She is now ranked number one in the state in Class 1. Freshman Molly M. made an impact, placing sixth in the 200 individual medley and sixth in the 100 breaststroke, while junior Abby C. added a 14th-place finish in the 100 butterfly.
In relay action, Maddie, Molly, Abby, and senior captain Madison S. combined for a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay, setting a new school record of 1:50.53, earning the team a number-one ranking in the state in Class 1. The team also delivered a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, rounding out a stellar meet for the Vivettes.
