Despite the option for a late start, an impressive number of ambitious Viz juniors and seniors arrived at school early last Wednesday to participate in the inaugural Visitation Academy Fellowship Program networking event. Equally impressive was the presence of 29 alumnae plus two additional mentors, a group that included doctors, nurses, engineers, business owners, a CEO, a Chief of Staff, an archaeologist, a fashion stylist, and a local elected official, among others.
These accomplished women were present to engage with Viz students, share their career journeys, exchange ideas, help students develop soft skills, and strengthen the Viz network across generations. Several students also shared their individual experiences in the fellowship program across various pathways, including business and entrepreneurship, STEM, service, and the humanities.
Viz launched this unique hands-on, experiential learning opportunity during the 2024-2025 school year to complement and expand traditional classroom curriculum by offering students the chance to explore their passions, interests, and skills outside the classroom. It began with a Sophomore Speaker series, but now 53 students across all high school grade levels are involved in this optional program. We love seeing our students inspired to be who they are and be that well.
Visitation Academy is an independent, private Catholic school offering a coeducational Montessori preschool and Kindergarten program, the area's only all-girl elementary program for Grades 1-5, and an all-girl middle school and all-girl high school.
