State Surge: Vivettes Swim to School-Best Fourth Place
The Viz swim and dive team delivered a historic performance at the MSHSAA Class I State Meet, earning fourth place out of 58 teams — the best finish in school history.
The highlight of the weekend was a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay, where Captain Madison S., Maddie M., Abby C., and Molly M. set a new school record (1:50.52). The same quartet also took third in the 400 free relay (3:41.14).
Individually, Maddie M. placed third in the 100 back and fourth in the 100 fly. Molly M. finished third in the 100 breast and sixth in the 200 individual medley. Abby C. placed 11th in the 100 free and 13th in the 200 free, while Madison S. finished 16th in the 200 free and anchored the 200 free relay to 15th. Diver Clara H. earned ninth overall, setting a new school record for an 11-dive meet.
Additional strong finishes included Haley D. (18th, diving) and Mia R. (23rd, 50 free).
