ViPrs Shine at St. Louis Regional Robotics Competition with Semifinal Finish and Leadership Honors
This past weekend, Team 1329—the ViPrs—delivered an impressive performance at the St. Louis Regional FIRST Robotics Competition, showcasing not only technical excellence but also the teamwork and resilience that define the program.
Comprised of students from Viz, Priory, and Whitfield Schools, the ViPrs stood out from the start with their hallmark consistency, strategic gameplay, and strong collaboration both on and off the field. Throughout the competition, students actively connected with teams from across the region, building alliances and demonstrating the cooperative spirit at the heart of FIRST.
Their efforts paid off when their robot, Linus, was selected for the 5th-seeded alliance heading into the elimination rounds. From there, the ViPrs battled through a series of intense matchups against top-ranked teams, advancing all the way to the fourth round of eliminations—just one step away from the finals. Their semifinal run capped a thrilling weekend marked by determination, adaptability, and standout performance under pressure.
Adding to the team’s success, Celia P. '28, was named a FIRST Leadership Award Semi-Finalist, recognizing her exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact within the robotics community.
From competitive success to individual achievement, the ViPrs’ performance at the St. Louis Regional highlights the innovation, teamwork, and leadership that continue to drive their program forward.
