Leading Ladies of LEGO

A team of five Viz fifth graders won the 2nd Place Champion's Award at the FIRST LEGO League Qualifier at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne on Saturday, December 3. Their team, the Crypto Cats, are sponsored by Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri. This award advances the team to the Missouri Regional Championship on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

 

Team members are Kelsey Herzog, Tess Kramer, Molly Lohse, Idgie Simmons, and Vada Tulyasathien. In addition to scoring third place in the robot game, the girls presented to a panel of judges for 30 minutes about their robot design, coding, and strategy, FIRST core values, and their innovation project on grounding/earthing. The team also created a website to educate others about the benefits of grounding: https://grounding4life.weebly.com/, have met with Dr. Albert, and have begun presenting to various classes in the Lower School. The Crypto Cats are concurrently participating in the Green Schools Quest, USGBC-Missouri Gateway Chapter.
