Outstanding Educator

Congratulations to Sarah Walsh, Viz's computer science and engineering teacher and the school's robotics team moderator. She is a National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) 2023 Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois Affiliate Educator Winner!

 

Sarah is one of only two individuals to receive this award in our region. Her contributions to Visitation have been invaluable. She grew the robotics team from just two students to 28, many of whom hold leadership roles. Additionally, Sarah has introduced new courses into the Upper School curriculum, including AP computer science principals, AP computer science Java, and intro to engineering, adding tremendous value to Viz's computer science program.
