Passion Runs in the Family

The Vulin sisters, Caelan (Class of 2026) and Carolina (Class of 2030), spent time pursuing their individual passions this past summer, and the time was definitely well spent! Caelan attended the 2023 Allsup Entrepreneurship Academy, hosted from July 24 to July 28 at St. Louis University’s Chaifetz School of Business. Caelan and her team took first place in the pitch competition for their innovative business concept Canvas Corner. Canvas Corner is an integrated app platform for local artists to create, connect, and collaborate in a safe space, welcoming beginning artists to access affordable art resources and tutorials and share feedback in a supportive social setting with a buy-sell marketplace, in-person community pop-ups, and local partnerships. Caelan designed the integrated business model app, including the target audience, competitive landscape, marketing plan, and financial modeling.

In June, younger sister Carolina attended Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, where she received the camp’s highest and most coveted award, “The Right Stuff Award,” given to one trainee at the close of each program. Modeled after the Tom Wolfe novel of the same name, the Right Stuff Award is given in honor of the early jet test pilots, astronauts, and all those who made sacrifices in early space programs. A Right Stuff winner exemplifies the characteristics of these brave pioneers and goes above and beyond to make their team’s week at camp a success.

Congratulations on these well-deserved awards!
