You learn to speak by speaking, to study by studying, to run by running, to work by working; in just the same way, you learn to love by loving.-St. Francis de Sales
Service to the community is an essential part of a Visitation Academy education. Students have multiple opportunities to participate in collections, food drives, dress down days, and other events for charity. Each holiday season, Campus Ministry adopts several families for Viz students to sponsor.
Apostolic Service-Learning Program
Through a sustained, hands-on experience of service, students can gain a deeper knowledge of God who is constantly reaching out to all humanity in compassion, mercy and love.
During the Apostolic Service-Learning Program, juniors dedicate two weeks (60 hours) of school time to working at a service site. Each student selects an organization in which to volunteer and work directly with people in-need. Students keep a journal of their experiences during Apostolic Service-Learning and many cite their time serving others as one of the most valuable educational experiences of their lives.
